    This live transmission was not possible. Yoe´s internet service was cut just minutes before 2:00 PM, the time of the event. However, he recorded his testimony about the harassment he and his family face from the political police. Yoe has been one of the targets of State Security among independent journalists.

    Bio:

    Yoe Suárez (Havana, 1990) is the author of several books of non-fiction, among them La otra isla (Finalist for the FNPI´s Michael Jacobs gran 2016 and Book Latino Award 2019), En esta ribera mi cuerpo (Mention Premio Casa de las Américas 2018), and El soplo del demonio. Violencia y pandillerismo en La Habana (2018). He won the Beca Gabo de Periodismo Cultural (2018), and the Premio de reportajes Editorial Hypermedia in 2017 and 2018. He is a collaborator for the newspaper Diario de Cuba and the magazine El Estornudo. He has published in media such as Newsweek, Vice, Univisión and El Español.
