    GUEST:
    Francisco Morejón

    HOST:
    Juliana Rabelo

    Synopsis:

Combining his background in political philosophy and educational theories, Franscico Morejón introduces the term ex-ducation. The idea of ex-ducation gives the responsibility of learning back to the person, not to an institution, government or other, removing the focus of the institution to instructing. What are the mechanisms through which one can distribute justice? Who distributes it? What is being distributed and who decides? These complex problems have led to the creation of Quilas (Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Quito) as part of his experience with the resurgence of the liberal arts in South America and the regeneration of ecosystems and educational systems. During this talk he provides us with tools to construct a just society through the creation of educational or learning institutions that are at the service of life and the development of human potential.
