    Synopsis:

    In today's meeting, the Venezuelan sociologist Mirla Pérez will present to us the distinctive features of popular communities in Latin America and the main elements that increase social problems in these population sectors.


    Bio:

    Dr. Mirla Pérez. Bachelor's degree in Social Work (1996) and Doctorate in Social Sciences (2009), both at the Central University of Venezuela (UCV). She is a professor at the UCV, where she has worked since 1997 and has held positions as a teacher, researcher, coordinator of the forensic social sciences program and head of the Department of Research and Social Action. He teaches in doctoral programs in Political Science and Research and Development. The professor has been a researcher at the Popular Research Center since 1995, specializing in socio-anthropological research on violent crimes. Pérez has been a consulting researcher for many groups, including the Municipality of Sucre. In 2017 she became director of Consultora Convivalis.
