Biography:

María Isabel Puerta Riera: Political scientist, with Pre and Postgraduate studies at the University of Carabobo and the Central University of Venezuela. Professor of International Politics and Government at Valencia College (United States). Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Section of Studies on Venezuela of the Latin American Studies Association.

Member of the Committee on the Status of Contingent Faculty in the Profession of the American Political Science Association and the Network of Political Scientists. Specialized in political theory and comparative politics of democratization
