    The little-told story of one of the most popular cultural events among young Cubans, the Festival Rotilla, from the mouth of one of its protagonists. Michel Matos also speaks here about his audiovisual production company, Hip Hop, and how he joined the Movimiento San Isidoro as a coordinator.

    Bio:

    Michel Matos
    (Havana, 1980)

    Michel Matos is a cultural advocate and activist and a graduate in History and Philosophy from the University of Havana. He was the founder and director of the Festival Rotilla (1998-2011), one of the largest independent events of alternative culture in Cuba. He was also the director and co-founder of the production house Matraka (2005-2017), focused on film and the promotion of young artists in Cuba, and the producer and co-founder of the independent Hip Hop festival Puños Arriba (2008-2015), dedicated to the promotion of the creation of independent rap. He is currently a member and assistant coordinator of the Movimiento San Isidro.
