    Synopsis:

    A conversation with the actor Carlos Alejandro Rodríguez Halley, the nephew of Luis Alberto Rodríguez López-Callejas. Carlos Alejandro speaks to us about his childhood experience as a member of one of the most influential families in Cuban political life. He breaks the silence about the myths that have surrounded the Castro-López-Callejas family, and reveals the harassment he has been subjected to due to his outspokenness.

    Bio:

    Carlos Alejandro Rodríguez Halley, the nephew of Luis A. Rodríguez López-Calleja, is a 2014 graduate of the Theater School of the Instituto Superior de Arte de La Habana (ISA). He has worked in theater, film and television and belongs to the Havana theater troupe El Público, under the direction of Carlos Díaz. As an actor he has starred in the film Caballos (Fabián Suárez, 2016). He debuted as a filmmaker in 2018 with the fiction short Un chino cayó en un pozo, which he wrote, produced and directed, winning the Fondo Noruego para el Cine Cubano in 2017 and in 2020 the jury prize in the Bannabá Fest, Festival de Cine de Derechos Humanos in Panama. Parallel to his personal artistic projects, he founded and developed the project Jesús María 20 in Old Havana, a bar-restaurant that also serves as an exhibition space and a stage for small-format concerts, which he is currently one of the owners of.
