    GUEST:
    LADISLAO AGUADO

    HOST:
    JULIANA RAVELO

    Synopsis:

Aguado differentiates between the book as memory and the book as product, going on to develop notions about the falsely named “book industry” and the dynamics between readers, authors and editors within the constraints of the economic, geographic, ideological and administrative barriers present in Cuba´s conditions. He ends by suggesting solutions and strategies for resistance. What role does rigor and transparency play in publishing as a way of working together? What editorial processes does the publication of a book require? Why are independent presses important?
