In 1974, he began working as an agent of Cuban espionage throughout Latin America, continuing to do so until the infamous 1989 “Ochoa Trial”, initiated by Fidel Castro out of fear that the United States would reveal proof of Cuba´s implication in drug and ivory trafficking.
