    Synopsis:

    A conversation with the activist Martha Beatriz Ferrer, daughter of the leader of Unión Patriótica de Cuba (UNPACU), José Daniel Ferrer, and the Dama de Blanco Belkis Castillo Ramírez. Martha shares the harassment she has been subjected to since childhood by the Cuban state, the repression directed towards her family, and their silencing and exile as a political tactic for demobilization. Martha narrates the difficult conditions under which political activism is exercised in eastern Cuba.

    Bio:

    Martha Beatriz Ferrer Cantillo is the eldest daughter of José Daniel Ferrer, leader of Unión Patriótica de Cuba (UNPACU), political prisoner and member of the Grupo de los 75. She is 23 years old and has also been a member of both UNPACU and Damas de blanco since she was very young, and has lived in Austin, Texas for 3 years where, in exile, she supports her father and all those who fight for a free and democratic Cuba.
