    A conversation with Héctor Luis Valdés Cocho, independent Cuban journalist and member of the Movimiento San Isidro, who in January 2022 was forced into exile from Cuba in exchange for the liberation of the political prisoner and fellow independent journalist Esteban Rodríguez. In this interview, Héctor Luis narrates his experience as a journalist and activist in Cuba, the threats and violence he has received from the political police and the details of his forced exile, together with Esteban Rodríguez. As part of the exile imposed on him by the Cuban authorities, our guest tells us about the experiences and details of his journey from El Salvador to the United States, where he currently resides

    Bio:

    Héctor Luis Valdés Cocho is a journalist and Cuban activist, member of the Movimiento San Isidro. In January 2022 he was expelled from Cuba together with fellow independent journalist Esteban Rodríguez in exchange for his freedom. He was one of the Obispo Street protestors on April 30, 2021 who protested in solidarity with Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, and was also part of the San Isidro hunger strike at Damas 955 in November 2020. In Cuba he worked as an independent journalist for the media website ADN CUBA. He currently resides in the United States.
