    Bio:

    Yimit Ramírez
(San Antonio de los Baños, 1983)

Yimit Ramírez is one of the unclassifiable directors of his generation. His poetics lies in the precariousness of means, in anodyne behavior, hidden in peripheral Havana. His film QHUP Quiero Hacer Una Película (I Want to Make a Movie, 2018), gave rise to a controversy during the ICAIC Muestra Joven that transcended the realm of aesthetics, and placed him in the vortex of officialist censorship mechanisms. He is preparing his new feature film Loading and two transmedia projects. After the censorship of QHUP he went into exile in Madrid, although Cuba continues to be the protagonist of his works. He won the first edition of the PM Award in the New Media category with Los ojos de Mila Kaos.
