  • SYNOPSIS

    At the age of 17, after her father was imprisoned for criticizing the Cuban government, Omara Ruiz Urquiola began her silent opposition. She obtained remarkable academic results at the Institutes of Art and Design. In 2006 she was diagnosed with breast cancer and was given three months to live. Fifteen years later, she spends her time between her house in Havana and the family farm in Pinar del Río, and she fights two battles: one against cancer, another against the government.

    Ismario Rodríguez Pérez
    (Havana, 1992)

    Ismario Rodríguez Pérez is a director and screenwriter, graduated in Journalism from the Universidad de La Habana (2016). Producer and director of the documentary web series Debates en Red, Prueba y Error (2019). He has collaborated as a photographer, producer and editor on documentary productions from Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. He currently works as Audiovisual Director of Periodismo de Barrio.
