Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti

    Juan Carlos Cremata Malberti is a writer, playwright, theater and film director. He trained as a playwright at the Instituto Superior de Arte (ISA) and then obtained a degree from the International Film and Television School, EICTV, both in Cuba. He taught at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and the Buenos Aires Film and Video Experimentation Center. Nada (1995), marks his debut as a feature film director, the first part of a trilogy that was never completed due to lack of budget. His next film, Viva Cuba, received more than 30 national and international awards, including the Grand Prix Écrans Juniors, at the 2005 Cannes International Film Festival. He currently lives in Miami and is completing personal artistic projects, including the series of short films MICRO CINEMA and editing Semen, a feature film he filmed in Cuba before his exile.
